Top 5 NFL Quarterbacks by QBR in 2017 Season
By Connor Fogel
February 4, 2018
Each week, NFL quarterbacks get a rating based on their statistics in the game: completions, runs, scrambles, turnovers, penalties as well as the toughness of the opposing defense and home-field advantage. The rating out of 100 gives an accurate comparison between the quarterbacks each week and at the end of the season.
This season’s top five quarterbacks were Philadelphia Eagle Carson Wentz, Minnesota Viking Case Keenum, New England Patriot Tom Brady, Dallas Cowboy Dak Prescott and Atlanta Falcon Matt Ryan.
Wentz and Brady’s teams are facing off in Super Bowl LII, but Wentz won’t be playing because in Week 14 he suffered a season-ending injury to his ACL. Since Week 16 when they took on the Cowboys, the Eagles will have consecutively faced each of the top five quarterbacks based on QBR, moving past Matt Ryan and Case Keenum in the playoffs to face Tom Brady in the Super Bowl.
